Banana Meatloaf

Free Press arts and life reporters Eva Wasney and Jen Zoratti try banana meatloaf, a dish introduced to Winnipeg homemakers in 1935 by the newspaper’s first cooking columnist, Mrs. Madeline Day. This recipe is part of the Homemade community cookbook project the paper is making to celebrate its 150th anniversary.

Knights of D-Day

This long-form article and mini-documentary was published by The Brandon Sun in 2016. Knights of D-Day focused on a group of Manitoba Second World War veterans honoured for their involvement in the D-Day landings.

The project won an EPPY Award for best news or event feature video and was nominated for Canadian Association of Journalists Award.
