This year I attended a Remembrance Day service at Vimy Ridge Memorial Park. The following are some photos I took during the chilly service.

Judy Hemlow was a medic with the Canadian Women’s Army Corp during Canada’s peacekeeping efforts. She and her fellow veterans wear special vests on Remembrance Day telling the story of when and where they served. Hemlow comes to Vimy Ridge Memorial Park with her group of vets every year.

A veteran and his young children walk past members of the Winnipeg Police Service before the service begins.

A member of The Royal Winnipeg Rifles delivers a prayer during the service.

A Second World War Veteran and member of The Royal Winnipeg Rifles during the service.

Members of The Royal Winnipeg Rifles stand guard at the Rifles Memorial during the chilly service.

Young girls pin their poppies to the wreaths laid at the Rifles Memorial after the service.

Nice work kiddo!
